In this episode we talk about the Thai government backpedaling on the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV), MPox in Thailand, the new Thailand to Malaysia rail route, and more....

Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) has its difficulties as some diplomatic posts seem unaware of its existence.

There is great hesitation in granting the DTV to the alternative “soft power” applicants claiming to enroll for sports courses or having a hospital appointment. What kind of unambiguous detail do they need to provide? Nobody seems to know.

The Bangkok authorities are famous for rethinking and backtracking as revealed in the government’s u-turns on cannabis policy. It will be most surprising if the visa-free extensions and the DTV emerge unchanged after the current review period.

Thailand and Malaysia have greenlit a new rail route connecting Bangkok to Penang

The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) recently revealed plans to initiate a train service from Bangkok’s Bang Sue Grand Terminal to Penang in Malaysia in two to three months.

MPox (formerly monkeypox) vaccinations for the public

The Thai Red Cross Society has initiated MPox (formerly monkeypox) vaccinations for the public, priced at 8,500 baht per dose, primarily targeting men who have sex with men and individuals with multiple sexual partners.

THEN in a following article:

Thailand likely detects a new, more dangerous mpox variant

Thailand announced on Wednesday a probable first case of a new lethal variant of mpox, which the World Health Organization (WHO) has termed a worldwide health crisis.

Mpox is a virus-caused disease that spreads from infected animals to humans through close physical contact, causing symptoms like fever, muscle pain, and large skin sores similar to boils.

The new system is available under the Online Services section (https://www.immigration.go.th/en/#serviceonline) of the Immigration Bureau’s website, and by selecting TM47, which is the official name of the form used for 90 day reporting. We have a member site posting on fulfilling the necessary steps to get it accepted titled, Using the 2022 Immigration 90 Day Reporting Website

Would have been nice JC if you not speed up the video on the way to the restaurant so we could see the area better. It was only about 15 seconds at the most. Great video otherwise and the food looks really good.......Sal : )

The problem with things like the DTV is that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs proposes and publicizes this stuff but they are not the ones to implement and enforce them. Here we are deep into September and immigration has said absolutely NOTHING about the DTV yet. If you somehow get one then good luck when you arrive here with it.
